The Place: Cape Sounion is a beautiful peninsula at the southernmost tip of Attica. It is easily located on a map. Many Greek professionals and artists have holiday homes and week-end retreats in the area. There are sandy coves for bathing often with a single taverna to offer refreshment. There are also splendid walks along the lovely coast-line.Do not miss the sunset at our local Temple of Poseidon! Our villa is located in a small, well organised complex - mostly occupied by Athenians for week-ends. The villa is very comfortable and relaxing with the sea,the beach,the pool and the lawns on the doorstep.The house is fitted and decorated as a family holiday home and not specifically customised for tourists. With a terrace and balconies and barbeque facilities everyone can relax. Wehave a special rate for late August - early September!!

The Locality: The nearest town is Lavrio(n)( 6-7 minutes by car) - well known for providing the 6th century Athenians with silver. It was a famous mining town but now is more of a fishing port and the Attica authorities have designated it as a cultural site. Except for yachting the town is not a centre for tourism. However, it has all the facilities - post office, banks, supermarkets, newspapers, cafes, tavernas and a great fish market.New and fast ferry services now go to the Cylades.

The Possibilities: New and fast ferry services to the Cyclades from Lavrion.I If you want to see the magnificent sites in Athens you can get there in an hour. But there is something for everyone as our previous guests have said - you can enjoy 'villa life', swimming, walks, eating, peace and reading- or for the younger ones there is fun in the little town. But do not expect a lot of tourist razz - its not like that. You will probably need a car to rove around. But local taxis are very reasonable and there is also a good bus service in Attica. Golf: There is a golf course at Glifada - one hours drive down the beautiful coast road.
