This lovely holiday apartment is in the centre of the traditional, unspoilt and peaceful fishing village of Santa Luzia, 4Kms from Tavira. A 3 minute walk will take you into the village, where you can stroll along the promenade. In the village there are cafes, traditional Portuguese restaurants, grocery shops, a pharmacy and bank. Santa Luzia beach is only 5 minutes away from the village by ferry, and the Barril beach is reached by miniature train, which is only 3/4 mins by car or bus. The Barril beach has snack bars, restaurants, shower facilities etc. Windsurf boards & pedalos are available for rent. The beach islands of the Ria Formosa are known for their unspoilt beauty and tranquility. The Ria is a haven for many types of birds, flora and fauna. Nearby historic Tavira can offer you good shops, markets, an outdoor theatre, restaurants and cafes. One of the most attractive towns in the Algarve, Tavira lies either side of the River Gilao, and is linked by a Roman bridge.

The apartment is conveniently situated only 8kms. from Junction 16 of the main A22 motorway, which is only 35 minutes drive from Faro Airport, only 25 minutes to the Spanish border and 10 minutes drive to the Benamor, Quinta Cima and Ria Golf Courses. Nearby Tavira has a railway and bus station and a much wider range of shops and supermarkets (Pingo Doce), as well as bars and restaurants, many specialising in locally caught seafood. Tavira is a town with much history. It is famous for its many churches, cobbled streets and traditional Portuguese tiled fisherman's cottages. A Roman bridge spans the beautiful river Gilao, connecting the two parts of the town. There are also immaculate flower gardens as well as a recently completed open air theatre. Regular local buses run between Santa Luzia and Tavira and taxi services are very reasonable. You will love not only the gorgeous Algarve climate, but also the warmth and hospitality of the local people that will keep you coming back.

There is a patio door from the living room leading onto the rear terrace, which has views over the traditional Portuguese rooftops to the Ria Formosa. Enjoy the wonderful views, watch the boats come in & enjoy the sunsets.The terrace houses a built-in barbecue, as well as a table and 4 chairs. There is a patio door leading from the bedroom to the front terrace, although access to the terrace can also be gained via a separate door from the hallway. You will find a pair of sun loungers, a small table and a sun awning, allowing you to sunbathe in privacy. There is car park facilities outside the property & access to the property is via two sets of stairs

Local Amenities: There are lots of things to do when you arrive in this beautiful part of the Algarve. There are some excellent markets locally, a water shoot park in Loule which is only 40 minutes drive. Tavira has excellent restaurants, local shops, outdoor markets, supermarkets and night entertainment in the summer season. Recently an outside theater has been built by the roman bridge in this beautiful traditional Portuguese town. Other great places to visit nearby are Estoi, Olhao and Moncarapacho. Spain is within each reach, where you can cross the border and visit Ayomonte, & if you want to travel further afield, Seville is a great day out.
