Croatian market opened up by easyJet

Property investment abroad: 24 April 2008

Budget carrier easyJet has further opened up the Croatian market by launching direct flights from Bristol.

The introduction of the twice-weekly service to Split is likely to be good news for people who are considering investing in the region.

Property investors in particular look set to benefit from greater demand for rental accommodation across the city, which in turn could push up house prices.

Therefore, people who enter the Croatian market early could stand to make substantial capital gains.

Commenting on the location, easyJet said: "Split is ideal for a relaxing city break or as a base for exploring the picturesque Croatian province of Dalmatia."

This comes after the Post Office flagged up Croatia as a good location for tourists who are feeling the impact of the credit crunch and economic slowdown.

The organisation said costs in eastern European cities tend to me much lower than those in the west.
