Throughout the village are a number of marvellous sites. The ancient church marks the easterly end of the ridge, and makes a great starting point for any Menerbes tour, providing you with stunning views over the Provence countryside. There are a number of ancient sights to investigate in the town, from the ancient Menerbes Chateau to the old defensive walls which cling to the sheer cliffs.

There are two incredible dolmens sites decorating the countryside near Menerbes. The circles of upright stones are defiantly worth visiting from a Menerbes villa, as there really is a mystical atmosphere whenever you visit, which cannot fail to intrigue visitors. Another place which cannot fail to inspire (on a totally different scale) is the Corkscrew Museum, which displays over 1,000 of the essential little pieces of kit, some dating back as far as the 12th century!

Menerbes is very well connected to a range of cycle paths and walking networks which run through Provence. There are two excellent paths which pass the village, both which are recognised as Grande Randonnee routes. There are also over 100km of cycle paths in the area for your enjoyment, taking you into some of the most delightfully peaceful parts of rural Provence.

Places to visit on holiday in Menerbes France

The charming old market town of Apt is located just 30km away on a rocky spur overlooking some of the finest vineyards in Provence. The Tuesday farmers market and Saturday town market are fantastic places to tour, sample the freshest of local produce and pick up some real bargains, both gastronomic and craftwork.

Summers in Menerbes are delightfully hot, with average temperatures soaring to over 30˚C in July and August. During the winter months, rain is rare, disappearing as fast as it arrived, so you would be incredibly unlucky to get a whole week of rain. Temperatures in the coldest months still remain above 10˚C.
