Lorgues:
Lorgues is situated on the side of a hill and surrounded by olive trees and vines. It is a pretty medieval town with squares, fountains and narrow pituresque streets. There are 3 supermarkets and plenty of small shops, street cafes and restaurants; and of course Chez Brunos the world famous truffle restaurant ( with a michelin star and celebrity chef owner ). There are many less gourmet but excellent smaller restaurants, bistros and bars. A large provencal market every Tuesday morning throughout the year fills the long main street. This is a colourful affair where you can sample the local produce including breads, cheeses, salamis, olive oils and tapenades, to name but a few, and buy spit roasted hams and chickens, potatoes, couscous and paella. There are plenty of wine domaines around the area for tasting and buying the local Cote de Provence wines.
