The Old Course was Vilamoura’s first, opened in 1969. It enjoys gentle, sloping hills with tree-lined fairways. This course hosted the Portuguese Open in 1970 and 1979. Pinhal winds through umbrella pines. It’s not as difficult as the Old Course and is more forgiving for the average golfer. On the Laguna course, water hazards come into pay on more than half the holes, so bring plenty of golf balls! It is a real test of golfing accuracy. The Millennium Course, opened in 2000, is destined to become one of the most attractive and interesting courses in Portugal. Finally, the brand new Victoria Course, designed by Arnold Palmer, was opened in September 2004. It hosted the Algarve World Cup in November 2005.
